Sidekick V18 Upgrade – New Features

The key new features of version 18 are…

  • Start and Stop Work on each Work Order
  • Manually Added Material on Work Orders
  • Contractors Recorded Separately on Work Orders (Mobile New Feature)
  • Editing a Work Request with automatic notifications
  • To-Do List
  • New Planned Work Orders on Desktop
  • And many, many more!

NEW FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS

Start and Stop Work on Each Work Order

In version 18, your employees will be able to start work on a specific work request or planned work order, and stop work on the same work request or planned work order.  This allows for improved reporting and job tracking.  The ‘start’ and ‘stop’ functions allow for multiple people on the same job, and multiple times on the same job.

Editing Work request with automatic allocation

Users with appropriate privileges have the power to make corrections to a submitted work request. This means you can fix any mistakes and ensure that the request is accurate and up-to-date. Don't let errors go unnoticed - take advantage of this feature and ensure that your work requests are always flawless!

The system will automatically send relevant notifications.

Manually Added Material on Work Orders

You can now add material that is not created in the Inventory module to work requests and planned work.  This allows you to quickly add all spare parts and material to work, without the overhead of creating it in inventory items first.

Preventative Room Maintenance Planning

Implementing preventative maintenance of guest rooms is crucial to ensure a well-maintained, hygienic, and pleasing environment that guests expect.

Here's a guide on how to make room maintenance effective.

1. Create a Schedule

Develop a well-defined maintenance schedule that considers periods of low room demand. Identify specific days or times when occupancy is traditionally lower and use these windows to perform maintenance tasks. This proactive approach minimizes disruptions to room occupation.

2. Prioritize Tasks

Work closely with both teams to establish clear priorities for maintenance tasks. Identify critical tasks that cannot be postponed and require immediate attention. Ensure that these tasks are completed efficiently without affecting room availability.

3. Maintain Open Communication

Foster open lines of communication between the maintenance and front office teams. Regularly share updates on room availability and maintenance needs. This transparency allows both teams to plan effectively and reduces conflicts.

4. Implement Room Blocking Strategies

Utilize room-blocking strategies to allocate a portion of rooms for scheduled maintenance during periods of lower demand. This strategic allocation ensures that some rooms are consistently available for occupancy, even when maintenance is ongoing in others.

5. Plan Ahead

Whenever possible, plan maintenance activities well in advance. This allows for better coordination between teams and reduces the likelihood of last-minute disruptions to room occupation. Advanced planning also enables you to allocate resources efficiently.
