Version 18 Key Features and Release Notes

Watch this Overview Video of Version 18, we'll walk you through the exciting new features and enhancements we've made to improve your experience.

Installing the New Version

When the current application version is upgraded with a new release, it is important to follow the steps below.

If you already logged in to the application,

(1) The "New Version is Initializing" message will appear on your application.

(2) You will be redirected to the login page automatically.

(3) You may log in to the application with your credentials and continue the work.

Log in to the application for the first time,

(1) The "New Version is Initializing" message will appear on your application.

(2) You may log in to the application with your credentials and continue the work.

If your device fails to initialize the new version, then the application will try for 1 to 5 attempts to download the new version.

Even after the 5th attempt, if the application still does not download, please consult your system administrator and contact the Q2 Solutions Client Success team for further assistance.

Start and Stop Work on each Work Order

Your employees will be able to start work on a specific work request or planned work order and stop work on the same work request or planned work order.  This allows for improved reporting and job tracking.  The ‘start’ and ‘stop’ functions allow for multiple people on the same job, and multiple times on the same job.

Manually Added Material on Work Orders

Material can be added directly to work requests and planned work via the “Manual Entry” option now available in the drop-down list on the Update and Complete screens. This allows you to quickly add all spare parts and material to work, without the overhead of creating it in inventory items first.

The functionality is different depending on if you have the Inventory module or not have the Inventory module.

Contractors Recorded Separately on Work Orders

You now have the ability to record contractors on Work Requests using the mobile. This can be done when updating or completing the work request. Similarly, you can also record contractors on Planned Work using the mobile when updating or completing the planned work.

Improvements to Work request submission -Icon Navigation

Icons are now automatically hidden based on new rules.  This means the user will only select icons that lead to a successful new work request submission.

Editing a Work Request with Automatic Notifications

Users with appropriate privileges have the power to make corrections to a submitted work request. This means you can fix any mistakes and ensure that the request is accurate and up-to-date. Editing a work request will re-submit the work request, which means the software will allocate the request according to the allocation rules.

For more details, please see page 10 of the attached Client Release Notes.

New Planned Work Orders on Desktop(New menu)

The Planned Work Order list has been added to Desktop (previously only on Mobile) and has been enhanced significantly to allow for full management of Planned Work Orders from a single page. The existing Planned Work Calendar, Room View, and Multiple Actions pages also remain.

To-Do List(New menu)

The new To-Do List provides a single area where multiple operational items may be viewed and actioned. The To-Do list is automatically filtered for work allocated to the logged-in user on both desktop and mobile views.
