Cost Codes

This article is relevant for version 17 and above.

Need to link your reactive and preventative maintenance back to internal job codes? With our new Cost Code function, you can assign cost codes against labour costs and material costs to allow you to record the true cost of maintaining assets against your budget. Use our new cost code activity reporting to get a summary or detailed view of each cost code and job assigned to it.

To enable cost codes for your property, please reach out to your support team at either escap.support@q2solutions.com.au or q2.support@sidekickglobal.com 

Once Cost Codes has been enabled for your property, you can begin to create these in your application.

Navigate to Admin > Admin Tables > Code Codes

Click the add button 

Enter your cost code number, description and mark the code as in use.



Once you have created the cost codes, these can be assigned when completing the job, using more details under the actuals tab for employees and materials. Alternatively if you have already completed the job, edit the work history from Work >Work History  *Remember to assign rates to each skill to populate the cost of your labour. 



To view a summary or detailed reporting on code costs, we have released a new report called Work Activity by Cost Code, to access this

 Reporting > Reports > Activity > Work Activity by Cost Code.

Select the date range or any other filters as required and Open Report

The report can be viewed in summary mode (total number of jobs and total cost) per cost code or in details mode which outlines the details of each job, including the cost of the specific materials and labour used for each job. Both of these reports can be exported to excel for further analysis.
